Villes et villages fleuris" label

For over 10 years, the quality of life in Val d'Isère has been recognized by the "Villes et villages fleuris" label.

A village in bloom

What is the "Villes et Villages Fleuris" label?

Created in 1959, this national label, awarded by the Conseil National des Villes et Villages Fleuris (National Council of Cities and Villages in Bloom), rewards local authorities' overall commitment to improving the environment and quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

Far from being limited to judging the flowers present in a municipality, its criteria take into account the plant and landscape design as a whole; the upkeep of public spaces; the measures put in place to preserve biodiversity; the awareness-raising, animation and promotion of the territory among the population; and the general involvement of citizens in the municipality's various projects.

2 flowers for Val d'Isère

After winning its first flower in 2008, the village-station's development and beautification policy was rewarded with a second flower in 2012.

During its visit, the jury particularly appreciated the quality of the flowers and street furniture. The enhancement of the entrance to the Parc de la Vanoise, including the rehabilitation of a hamlet, was also noted.

A village in constant evolution

Over the years, several projects have transformed the village, and new ones continue to be undertaken by the municipality to make the area ever more welcoming, pleasant to live in and respectful of the environment.

The development of the Daille plain, the snow front and the Manchet sports park are just a few examples.
