Oriane, learning with music

Want to learn an instrument? Oriane Favre will be your teacher if you choose the piano! It's an instrument she's always loved and made her specialty.

She fell under the spell of the Savoie region while on vacation, and moved there as soon as she finished her music studies. By a happy coincidence, she soon began giving lessons in Tignes, Val d'Isère and then in other neighboring communes, thanks to a merger with the inter-communal music school based in Bourg Saint Maurice. A position she has held for 30 years, driven by the desire to help and share her knowledge.

Passionate about learning methods, which she has seen evolve over time, she knows how to adapt so that each student can progress. As she so aptly points out, learning to play an instrument also means learning to be organized, independent, critical thinkers, self-respecting and tolerant. Moments of group practice, for example, are ideal for working on acceptance of others and supporting them when they encounter difficulties.

The aim of her classes? To enjoy yourself, listen to your emotions and appreciate what you feel. Becoming a virtuoso comes later.

The Music School offers individual and group lessons for children (from age 3) and adults. In spring, a discovery course is set up for future students. They can attend a first class to see how it's done, then a second to try out the instrument they're interested in. Registration for new students takes place in June.
